I believe that while AI and robotics technology pose significant ethical questions, we are not at a point where robots can be afforded rights equivalent to humans. Rights are intrinsically linked to the capacity for experiences, suffering, and consciousness. Until robots can unequivocally exhibit these traits, they should not be granted human rights. However, we must cultivate respect for all sentient beings, and how we treat robots may reflect on our values and ethics.
