In my view, the EU should not wait for a common agreement with the US and China before regulating AI. Given the rapid pace of AI development, creating effective and proactive regulations is critical to ensuring ethical and safe deployment. The EU has the opportunity to set high standards and lead by example, and should take action based on its own assessments and values.
