While fundamental science is important, the astronomical costs associated with building a larger-scale CERN aren't justifiable. The funds could be better allocated to pressing global issues such as climate change, poverty, and healthcare. A larger collider may not lead to proportionate scientific advancements and could represent an inefficient use of resources at a time when interdisciplinary and incremental science can bring about substantial progress in various fields.
