While I firmly support free speech, the difficult truth is that when someone holds a position of influence, their words carry weight and can sometimes cause harm. Termination is a complex issue and must be considered on a case-by-case basis, especially when the opinions expressed undermine the values or safety of the workplace. However, I believe more often than not, dialogue and education are preferable to outright termination.
