We must absolutely approve more initiatives to promote housing development, especially affordable housing. Everyone deserves a decent place to live, and by building more homes, we can address the outrageous level of homelessness and housing insecurity in America.

I strongly believe that we must implement rent control in high-demand areas to ensure housing remains affordable for working families. The housing crisis is a moral issue, and we cannot allow profits to continue dictating whether people have a roof over their heads. Rent control is a necessary step toward protecting tenants from exploitation and preventing homelessness.

I strongly believe that public land should not be sold to private developers. These lands are a national treasure meant to be preserved for future generations, not exploited for profit by a few wealthy individuals or corporations. We must prioritize environmental conservation and public access over private interests.

Simply increasing the area available for construction does not adequately address the affordability crisis. We need a comprehensive approach that includes building affordable housing, expanding rent control, investing in public housing, and providing funding for first-time homebuyers. While new construction is part of the solution, without strong policies aimed at keeping housing affordable, market forces alone will not protect low-income families from displacement or guarantee that the new housing stock remains accessible to those most in need.
