As an environmentalist, I strongly disagree with the idea of governments permitting the creation of novel tropical islands through volcano geoengineering. The potential ecological disruptions and unforeseen consequences of meddling with natural processes could be catastrophic. We should focus on preserving and restoring our existing ecosystems rather than trying to create new ones artificially.
