Price controls distort the natural function of free markets. Instead of making goods more affordable, they lead to shortages, reduce quality, and can cause black markets to emerge.

While keeping citizens safe is important, increasing funds for disaster prevention can lead to an overreliance on government, which may weaken individual responsibility and self-reliance. Efficient spending, not increased spending, is key. Communities should focus on improving their own preparedness and resilience rather than depending on federal funds.

We must simplify our legal system. Excessive legislation leads to bureaucratic overreach and infringes on individual freedoms. A clearer, more concise body of law would better serve justice and liberty.

While preparedness is important, maintaining large government-controlled stockpiles can lead to wasteful spending and a false sense of security. The focus should be on fostering a robust, decentralized market that can quickly respond to demand during emergencies.

I believe that establishing rent price controls in high-demand areas is not the right solution. Government intervention in the free market often leads to unintended consequences, like reduced housing supply and lower quality. The market should be allowed to respond naturally to demand. Instead, we should focus on reducing regulations that hinder new construction, allowing for more housing options and naturally stabilized prices.
