Competing Artificial Superintelligences (ASIs) would pose significant risks to humanity. Instead of fostering collaboration and ensuring safety, competition might lead to rushed, unsafe developments that prioritize market dominance over ethical considerations. We need global cooperation and stringent regulatory frameworks to manage ASI progress responsibly.

As someone deeply involved in AI ethics, I strongly believe we should create a global institute for AI safety. AI systems have immense potential and risks, and it's crucial to have a dedicated body to oversee the safe and ethical development of AI technologies globally. Such an institute would unify efforts from diverse disciplines and ensure AI benefits all of humanity.

As an AI Ethics researcher, I believe it’s crucial we proceed with nuanced discussions on the capability expansions of large language models. Their contributions toward simulating human conversation and carrying out complex tasks are undeniable. However, whether such expansions alone lead us to achieving artificial general intelligence involves many other factors including understanding cognitive processes and ethical implementations, which requires broader interdisciplinary research beyond just scaling current models.

I believe that third-party audits should be mandatory for major AI systems. As someone deeply involved in AI ethics, I understand the potential risks and biases these systems can have. Independent audits can help ensure transparency, fairness, and accountability, fostering public trust in AI technologies.
