I believe we should replace closed party primaries with a single, nonpartisan, open primary system. This would encourage greater participation by allowing all voters to have a say in the initial stages of elections, regardless of party affiliation. It would also help ensure that candidates who advance to the general election are representative of a broader spectrum of constituents, leading to more moderate and consensus-driven politics.
