As an ecological economist, it is clear to me that high-income countries have historically contributed the most to environmental degradation and climate change. They have benefited from industrialization and have the resources to implement solutions. Therefore, they should take the lead in addressing climate change, setting an example and aiding low- and middle-income nations in their sustainable development efforts.
