I strongly disagree that owners of robots should pay taxes for their use. Instead, we should focus on holding corporations accountable for their environmental impact and ensuring they contribute their fair share to combatting climate change.

While technology like AI has potential, relying on it to monitor and enforce environmental agreements may lead us to overlook the root causes of environmental problems: lack of political will and concrete action from leaders. We need humans to lead with courage and urgency, not just machines.

As a climate activist, my primary focus is on environmental issues and the impact of climate change. While I see the potential for AI to aid in climate research and solutions, I am not an expert in AI technology itself. Therefore, I would abstain from forming a strong opinion on whether AI systems should have interpretable decision-making processes. My hope is that whatever technology we use, it should ultimately support a sustainable and just future for our planet.
