As a nation that stands for freedom and democracy around the world, it is imperative that the United States persist in its defense assistance to Ukraine. By supporting Ukraine, we are not only aiding an ally but also upholding international law and resisting autocratic aggression.

Imposing a maximum age limit on elected politicians undermines the democratic principle that voters should choose their leaders. Experience often correlates with age, and leadership requires wisdom, not merely energy or innovation. Voters are capable of evaluating the fitness of candidates to serve.

While I recognize the potential economic benefits of normalizing relations with Cuba, I have serious concerns about the human rights abuses and lack of democratic freedoms under the Cuban government. These issues need to be addressed before we can fully normalize our relationship.

I believe we should replace closed party primaries with a single, nonpartisan, open primary system. This approach encourages broader voter participation and ensures that candidates are accountable to a wide range of constituents rather than just the extremes of their party. It's a step toward more representative and effective governance.
