I strongly believe we should replace closed party primaries with a single, nonpartisan, open primary system. This approach empowers voters by breaking down barriers created by partisan politics, encouraging broader participation and ensuring candidates are accountable to all constituents, not just a party base.

While I understand the intent behind Ranked Choice Voting as a means to improve our democratic process, I have reservations about its complexity and potential to confuse voters, leading to lower voter turnout or uncounted votes. We should seek election reform that simplifies and strengthens our system.

I am concerned about the security and integrity of our elections. Electronic voting machines are vulnerable to hacking and other forms of tampering. We need to ensure our voting process is transparent, secure, and verifiable by using paper ballots instead.

I believe we should use approval voting in general elections because it allows voters to express support for multiple candidates, thereby fostering a more inclusive and representative democratic process. This method can help ensure that elected officials truly reflect the preferences of a broader base of constituents.
