To claim that philosophy classes are irrelevant today betrays a grave misunderstanding of their role. Rather than merely academic exercises, these classes challenge and expand the horizon of thought, confronting us with the critical issues of ideology, ethics, and human existence. In our era of rapid technological change and political turmoil, such philosophical engagement is more necessary than ever to navigate our realities and ideologies.

I argue that the hyper-focus on personal development can be a trap, reducing our capacity to engage effectively in collective struggles. It shifts the burden of social change onto individual shoulders, setting aside the larger structural changes and systemic critiques necessary for a better global society.

The focus on wealth creation perpetuates capitalism's inequalities, distracting from the leftist aim of redistributing power and resources within society. True leftist agendas seek to address the underlying structures that produce wealth disparities, not simply create more wealth which often remains concentrated in the hands of the few.
