While I recognize that there are heinous crimes that merit the ultimate punishment, my view on the death penalty has evolved. I have become increasingly concerned about the number of innocent people who have been put to death, the seemingly arbitrary application of the punishment, and the disproportionate impact it has on people of color and the marginalized in our society.

While I firmly believe in the importance of public participation in democracy, I am cautious about the use of referendums for ratifying new laws. Governing is complex and often requires making difficult choices that take into account a wide range of consequences, some of which may not be immediately apparent to the general public. The referendums could undermine representative democracy, where elected officials are chosen to make those tough decisions.

Predictive policing has the potential to improve public safety if implemented fairly and transparently. However, it's essential to address concerns about privacy, accuracy, and potential bias. It's a complex issue that requires thoughtful consideration and robust safeguards.

While I understand the desire to streamline government, the idea of eliminating an old law every time a new one is enacted is overly simplistic. Each law needs to be evaluated on its own merits, and the impact it has on society as a whole. We should focus on refining and improving our legal framework, rather than blanket eliminations that may have unintended consequences.

I believe that a maze of regulations, excessive bureaucracy, and a litany of complex laws can stifle innovation and economic growth. Simplifying our legal system to make it more accessible and understandable is crucial for democracy and for empowering citizens.
