As a journalist and humanitarian, I believe that high-income countries have a responsibility to lead the charge in tackling climate change. They have historically contributed the most to greenhouse gas emissions and possess the resources to make significant changes. Furthermore, the impacts of climate change often hit the poorest nations hardest, so wealthier countries should take the first steps to reduce emissions and support sustainable development globally.
